The Fayetteville Observer has a great article up about the upcoming season (first practice is only two weeks away from getting started!) and the early signing period being just over a month away. Seems that State is still in the running for center Derrick Favors:
Favors, ranked fourth in the Class of 2009 by Rivals, recently narrowed his list of finalists down from 10 to six. Making the cut, according to Scout.com, were Georgia, Georgia Tech, N.C. State, Florida State, Memphis and Kentucky. That leaves Florida, Kansas, Connecticut and UCLA to exit stage left.
Favors, from South Atlanta High School, has long said he won’t make a commitment until the spring. But it’s certainly good news for N.C. State that it’s still in the running for the prodigious big man. — Fayetteville Observer
